The Los Angeles Police Department on Wednesday released surveillance images of the suspect involved in the Oct. 30 incident in the 300 block of North Figueroa.
Authorities say the victim was sitting in her car and waiting to pick up her brother from work when she was shot several times by the suspect riding a moped. She was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The suspect, described as a man between 30 and 40 years old, fled the scene on a moped, wearing a bright yellow vest, face mask and gloves.
The victim spoke with ABC7 and said she was gearing up to watch the Dodgers in what would be the final game of the World Series but instead ended up fighting for her life that night.
"It was a great amount of pressure in my head and I just tried to scream, 'Help! Help'," she said.
She had been shot in the face. She was just outside the L.A. County Public Health Department where a good Samaritan tried to stop her bleeding.
"He plugged up the holes and said, I'm a physician. I'm going to help you. And as soon as he did that, I was still just like, Okay, he's helping me," she said.
The family is offering a reward in this case.
"We've all collected $5,000 and we are offering a reward out of our own pockets of $5,000 to anybody that can help us by providing information that leads to this person's arrest and conviction."
The victim told Eyewitness News that the bullets shattered her jaw, went through her cheeks and shoulder, and collapsed her lung. She thanks the good Samaritan, her family, and the doctors and nurses who helped.
"They really did help me get through," she said.
