WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Four men were wounded early Friday morning in a shooting in West Hollywood, authorities said.

The shooting occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of De Longpre and Fountain Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Deputies responded to a report of multiple gunshots and arrived at the scene to find three men suffering from gunshot wounds.

While the deputies were searching the area for evidence, they discovered a fourth victim about half a block from where the first three were found, the Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

All four men were transported to a hospital. Authorities initially said none of the victims' injuries were believed to be life-threatening, but later said their conditions were unknown.

A woman who has lived in the neighborhood for 20 years described the gunshots as a "thumping" sound before a driver fled from the location.

"After the gunshots, yes, it came racing up the street, made a U-turn and went speeding down the street," said the witness, who declined to be publicly identified.

No arrests were immediately announced, and the suspects being sought were described only as two males.
