Newly released audio from the 911 call made by Kanye West's doctor on the day of his hospitalization is shedding new light on the concern for his mental health.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Newly released audio from the 911 call made by Kanye West's doctor on the day of his hospitalization is shedding new light on the concern for his mental health.

The doctor asked authorities to send both paramedics and police.

"If you can bring both. I think he's definitely gonna need to be hospitalized. I wouldn't just do the police by itself," the caller is heard saying.

The dispatcher replies: "Sir if you could just keep an eye on him. ...Don't let him get any weapons or anything. If anything changes, if he does become physically combative between now and the police or paramedics getting there, give us a call back at 911."

West was rushed by ambulance to UCLA Medical Center from the home of his Hollywood trainer Harley Pasternak on Nov. 21. The trainer, who also works with West's wife, Kim Kardashian, said the rapper was suffering from exhaustion and sleep deprivation.

West is now home after being hospitalized for more than a week.

The medical emergency came after several days of bizarre behavior and rants at his concerts, before he canceled his Los Angeles show and then the rest of his current tour.
