3 suspects caught on camera in daytime robbery in Riverside
Authorities are searching for three suspects they said committed a home-invasion robbery at a Riverside home in broad daylight over the weekend.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities are searching for three suspects they said committed a home-invasion robbery at a Riverside home.

Michelle Von Pertz and her daughter watched surveillance video of the robbery that happened in the 8400 block of Syracuse Street. The video shows the suspects wiping down a door and then moments later, two men walk out with several bags.

"It's very scary. I've lived here for 15 years and I haven't seen so much as what's been happening lately," Michelle Von Pertz said.

The robbery happened shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday. Authorities said a 17-year-old girl who was outside her home was approached by a female suspect who followed her toward the front door of the house. As she did that, a second suspect walked up and pushed the teen down as she tried running to the front door.

The female suspect and a third suspect then entered the house, while the other suspect held the teenager. After the pair ransacked the home, all three suspects fled the area with stolen property.

The home's doorbell surveillance camera captured the suspects fleeing the scene. The victim was not hurt, but the robbery has the Orangecrest community a bit shaken.

"This was very close to home. I have a young son, so this was especially frightening to me," resident Diane Kwasman said.

Security cameras in the neighborhood also captured the getaway vehicles, one described as a dark-colored four-door sedan, possibly a Chevy, and a red two-door muscle car, possibly a Chevy Camaro.

Von Pertz said it was the latest crime to hit her neighborhood and it has other people thinking about installing cameras.

"I know a lot of our neighbors have been trying to get cameras and things because there's been more criminal activity that has been coming to this area," she said.

The female suspect is described as a woman in her 30s, 5 feet tall and about 150 pounds, with black shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with white stripes, black pants and a white headband.

The second suspect is a man in his 40s with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt, black pants and black shoes.

The third suspect is a man with black hair. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, tan pants, blue baseball cap and a yellow reflective construction-type vest.

Authorities are searching for more witnesses and anyone else who may have surveillance video of the suspects. Anyone who recognizes the suspects or vehicles are urged to contact Detective Karla Corbett at (951) 353-7134.
