Boyle Heights woman raped by man holding machete in bedroom
A 30-year-old woman woke up in the middle of the night and was raped by a stranger holding a machete in her Boyle Heights bedroom.

BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 30-year-old woman woke up in the middle of the night and was raped by a stranger holding a machete in her Boyle Heights bedroom.

The male suspect allegedly forced the woman's living room window open and climbed inside her home in the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue after midnight Friday. He then took off all his clothes, except his underwear, and went inside her bedroom holding a machete, Los Angeles police said.

The woman woke up to find a man standing at the foot of her bed, who then proceeded to sexually assault her. Afterwards, he put on his clothes and fled the home.

The suspect was described as a 35-year-old man, who is 5 feet 4 inches tall and about 150 pounds. He had brown, wavy hair, possibly brown or hazel eyes and a noticeable scar on his upper lip. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with blue side panels, blue jeans, black tennis shoes and a brown baseball cap.
