HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- What better way to kick off the holidays in Tinseltown than to say lights, camera, action?
The holiday festivities kicked off at Hollywood and Highland Monday with a very special lighting ceremony - special because it's been four long years since they were turned on.
Fifty-four palm trees and 27 city light poles have been decked out in lights and holiday decorations.
The lights will remain year-round, and they can be programmed to change for different holidays and events.
The light display was the result of a joint effort between the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and the Hollywood Entertainment District.
The project has been in the works since the summer.
