'Tis the season: Lots of generous donors turn out at the Spark of Love event

HARBOR GATEWAY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- At a Walmart in Harbor Gateway during the Spark of Love event, a man who preferred to stay anonymous made a very generous donation.

He lined up 11 shopping carts and invited Los Angeles firefighters to fill up each one. Once they were finished, he paid for the entire bill.

Among the generous donors at the event were Kurt Baker and Dustin Holcomb from Riviera Fitness in Redondo Beach. Not only did they donate a large box of toys but they promised to fill another box just as big.

"We consider ourselves part of the community, and there are several things that we do. We're doing a food drive, we're doing this toy drive, and any time we have the opportunity we're going to want to make sure that we can help out local businesses and reach out to other needy charities as well," said Baker.
