Former Sopranos star loses home in explosion
Sandy Kenyon has a look at the familiar faces affected by the explosion and fire in the East Village.

NEW YORK -- Sources close to Drea De Matteo confirm that the actress' East Village home was among those destroyed by a building explosion, fire and collapse that also left nearly two dozen people injured and two missing.

"A hole where my NYC home of the last 22 years once stood," she wrote on Instagram. "RIP 123 2nd Avenue."

The seven-alarm fire in Lower Manhattan was reported at 3:17 p.m. Thursday and caused 22 injuries, including 18 civilians and four uniformed personnel, officials said.

In another photo, the former "Sopranos" star, who recently guest starred in an episode of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD," paid homage to the firefighters who worked so diligently to extinguish the flames.

"NYC's finest trying to put out the flames to mine n many others apartments. Speechless..." she wrote. "(Prayers) for those that are hurt."

Meanwhile, one of the stars of ABC's "Modern Family" also felt a personal loss due to the fire.

Sarah Hyland grew up right across the street on Second Avenue, opposite the devastation.

"I grew up across the street," she tweeted. "Thinking of my childhood neighborhood. Explosion shreds East Village, building collapses."
