PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (KABC) -- Radio personality Casey Kasem's daughter was granted regular visits with him on Friday after raising concerns about the care being given by her stepmother.
The Washington state judge's ruling is the latest update in the battle between Kasem's wife Jean and her stepdaughter, Kerri Kasem.
Kerri Kasem said in court filing that her father suffers from a form of dementia. In court, she said he was suffering from bedsores and lung and bladder infections.
Jean Kasem, who has been in control of her husband's medical care, denied those allegations. She has blocked three of his children from seeing him, according to court filings.
In the latest ruling, Kerri Kasem will be allowed daily visits for up to an hour with a witness and will be able to have her father examined by a doctor. She was barred from sharing pictures of her visits, after Jean Kasem's lawyers raised concerns about pictures given to the media.
The ruling also dictates that Casey Kasem will stay in Washington state until further notice.
Another hearing was scheduled for June 6.
Casey Kasem gained fame with his radio music countdown shows, "American Top 40" and "Casey's Top 40." Now 82, he and his wife have been staying with family friends west of Seattle.
