Monday's 'Dancing With The Stars' theme was American Icons Night, and we saw double dancing from the contestants.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Monday night's "Dancing With The Stars" episode came down to the two gold medal-winning ice dancers.

Meryl Davis and Charlie White spent most of their lives skating to victory together. Now, one is dancing on to the finale while the other moves to the sidelines.

White and his dance partner Sharna Burgess almost got to the finals. They even got a perfect score for their Foxtrot on Monday's show. It was not a bad way to say goodbye.

"You don't have to be outrageous or fake anything to be entertaining. But to be someone that is inspiring is maybe more important than that," said White.

White's Olympics partner is moving onto the finals without him.

"I'm so honored to have made it this far with her. I'm certainly on the show because of her, and I'll be cheering her on as she moves forward," White said about Davis.

Davis and her professional dance partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, topped the judges' leaderboard. They got a perfect score for their Jive and another one for their Viennese Waltz.

It's also onto the finals for Amy Purdy, James Maslow and Candace Cameron Bure.

"We've all worked really hard. We all deserve to be here, but I just never imagined that I'd be here," said Cameron Bure.

It's a two-night finale next week on Monday and Tuesday.
