'I'll See You in My Dreams' shows you're never too old to find love
A connection between a widow and a new man in town shows finding love is possible later in life in the new movie 'I'll See You in my Dreams.'

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- In the new movie "I'll See You in my Dreams," Blythe Danner plays a widow who has good friends looking out for her best interests. Sam Elliott plays a new guy in town looking for a possible love connection.

"She's one of those women who could just kind of take a step back and slide into old age ungracefully," Danner said. "Luckily, these things pervade her life, invade her life, and she has to rise to the occasion."

Danner thinks as the baby boomers are aging, there's going to be a need for more films like this. Elliott agrees.

"It's an honest tale about real people and told in great fashion," Elliott said. "It's kind of an every man's tale. We're all going down this road that this story goes down."

The stars say they were drawn to the film by a great screenplay, one Elliott calls "a gift."

"I think that's why we all came. It wasn't for the money, you know?" Elliott joked. "It was also for the fascination that it was like an 18-day schedule. I mean, how is it possible to make a movie like this in 18 days?"

"We all felt so close and our chemistry was so great," Danner said. "We were all saying, 'What's next? Let's do something together again.'"

"I'll See You in my Dreams" is rated PG-13 and is in theaters now.
