Oscar crews roll out first section of iconic red carpet

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Crews rolled out the first portion of the iconic red carpet outside of the Dolby Theatre as the countdown to the Oscars continues.

A section of the red carpet was unrolled Tuesday night and then covered in protective plastic. More carpet is expected to be rolled out right up to the entrance of the Dolby Theatre sometime on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, crews are working around the clock to get Hollywood Boulevard ready for its close-up. This means major road closures and restrictions for the area, which kicked off on Sunday.
