LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A British actor who claimed "X-Men" director Bryan Singer sexually abused him as a teenager dropped his lawsuit Friday.

The man, identified only as "John Doe" filed the federal civil complaint in Los Angeles in May.

The lawsuit was dismissed "with prejudice" which means the actor can never refile his claim against Singer.

Singer's lawyer, Martin Singer, says Singer is "pleased the case was dismissed." He had filed a motion to dismiss the suit earlier this month.

In the lawsuit, the actor accused Singer of sexually assaulting him after taking him to a "Superman Returns" premiere and after-party in London.

The suit claims Singer and producer Gary Goddard took him to a hotel room.

"Once in the bedroom, Singer and Goddard started grabbing John Doe in a sexual manner. John Doe told them to stop and that this made him feel very uncomfortable. Goddard then left the room and returned with a large, musclebound man," the lawsuit reads.

The musclebound man allegedly hit the teen and held him while Singer grabbed him.

The allegations against Goddard have not been dismissed.

The lawsuit was filed by Jeff Herman, the same attorney who filed four other suits against Singer, Goddard and several other Hollywood executives claiming they sexually abused child actor Michael Egan when he was a teen.
