VIDEO: Child's seat belt malfunctions on roller coaster

AMARILLO, Texass -- A terrifying moment for a Texas father and his 6-year-old son was caught on camera.

Delbert Latham said he and his son Kaysen were on a roller coaster at Wonderland Park in Amarillo, Texas, when the boy's seat belt malfunctioned.

"As soon as we went over, I felt the seat-belt release. I guess the motion of it going down threw him to the bottom of the cart. That's when I reached over to grab him," Latham said.

Wonderland released a statement that said in part, "We were extremely concerned to hear about the experience of Mr. Latham and his six-year-old son over the weekend."

The amusement park said it removed the cart and ensured all other seat belts were working properly.

Wonderland said its safety and maintenance teams conduct daily inspections on every ride.
