LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Albertsons may have been among several grocery store chains hit by a recent data breach.

Company officials say hackers accessed a network that processes Supervalu transactions, with account numbers, expiration dates, cardholder names and other information possibly stolen. The company has yet to determine if any cardholder data was actually stolen.

The breach occurred between June 22 and July 17. Supervalu says there's no evidence of any customer data being misused.

The company believes the breach has been contained and says customers can safely use credit- and debit-cards at their stores.

Customers with questions about the data breach were urged to call Supervalu at (855) 731-6018.
