IRWINDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- The Irwindale City Council voted unanimously to dismiss a lawsuit against Huy Fong Foods, makers of Sriracha hot sauce.

The Sriracha plant is no longer considered a public nuisance.

Area residents complained about spicy odors coming from the manufacturing plant. They said the odors burned their throats and eyes.

Huy Fong CEO David Tran installed stronger filters as a result at the plant. The plant may have been forced to move if the suit had gone forward.

The company had been peppered with offers to relocate, including from Texas lawmakers, who toured the facility earlier this month.
