New AcroYoga adds a twist to the ancient practice

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- AcroYoga is a combination of acrobatics and yoga that helps build trust and communication between partners.

Co-owner of Health LA Brandy Velasquez said the new form of partner yoga is more than just exercise.

AcroYoga instructors are saying the practice is also making an overall difference with human interaction.

"They love team building, trust. And it gives them time to interact. We're learning to let down those barriers and actually have contact with other humans," said Velasquez.

Alejandro Rojas, fitness manager for Health LA, said AcroYoga helps partners share a feeling of accomplishment as they exercise together.
