SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KABC) -- A patient in a Sacramento hospital is being tested for possible exposure to the Ebola virus.

The unidentified patient is being kept in a special isolation room at the Kaiser Permanente hospital in South Sacramento.

A blood sample has been sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It will likely be several days before the results are in.

No information has been released on where or when that patient might have been exposed to Ebola.

Earlier this month, the World Health Organization declared the Ebola outbreak in West Africa to be an international public health emergency. It is the largest and longest outbreak ever recorded of Ebola.
