1 injured in shooting on 60 Freeway in South El Monte

SOUTH EL MONTE, Calif. (KABC) -- A search is underway Saturday for the gunman involved in a car-to-car shooting on the 60 Freeway in South El Monte.

The suspect opened fire shortly after midnight on a car on the eastbound side of the 60 Freeway east of San Gabriel Boulevard. Bullets shattered the car's windshield and some windows.

One person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.
