LOS ANGELES (KABC) --Alicia Vikander has been nominated for a BAFTA and a Golden Globe for "The Danish Girl" and "Ex Machina."
In "The Danish Girl," Vikander heads back to the 1920s, playing an artist whose work includes paintings of women ... but with a twist.
Her husband, played by Eddie Redmayne, is the muse for her work.
The film was actually inspired by the true story of Redmayne's character coming to the realization that he wants to become a woman, and his wife supporting his decision out of true love.
The Swedish star takes on a very different type of role in the futuristic thriller "Ex Machina."
"I think they might be the two best scripts as its own craft that I've read. It actually feels almost like a book," Vikander said. "The film kind of played in front of me in my head."
Vikander is also up for a Critics Choice Award.
