SAN DIEGO (KABC) -- A police pursuit ended in a violent crash that was caught on camera in San Diego.

California Highway Patrol officers chased a motorcyclist traveling at least 130 mph on southbound Interstate 5 in Encinitas around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

At one point the chase was called off because the suspect was traveling so fast. Right at that moment, a second motorcyclist who had been cruising with the suspect earlier sped past officers. They began chasing the second suspect.

Authorities headed down the 5 Freeway through Del Mar and then traveled onto southbound Interstate 805.

Near North Park, the motorcyclist slammed into the back of a woman driving on the freeway. He and his motorcycle slid down the freeway, while the woman in the car spun out of control and crashed into the shoulder.

Authorities arrested the motorcyclist, who was taken to a nearby hospital. The woman was not injured.
