HIGHLAND, Calif. (KABC) -- A 13-year-old boy who was jogging in Highland was attacked and robbed by a group of boys. One of the suspects is believed to be as young as 10 years old, authorities said.

Anthony Musante was in an open field in the area of Ward and Cunningham streets when he was approached by three juveniles at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Anthony, who just moved to the area from Minnesota three weeks earlier, was returning home after visiting the YMCA when one of the suspects asked to use his cellphone.

"As I am walking back he asked me if he could use my phone, I said 'no.' Then they just jumped me for it," Anthony said. "Two of them kept hitting me while one just grabbed it then they all took off once they had it."

The suspects fled to a nearby condo complex with the LG K7 cellphone, according to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department.

Anthony was left bloodied and bruised.

Sheriff's officials described the suspects as being between 10 and 16 years old and wearing hooded sweatshirts and basketball shorts. One suspect was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, while another was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, according to deputies.
