A 20-year-old woman was charged with murder Tuesday, among other felony counts, for her suspected involvement in a hit-and-run crash and then a second crash that left a man dead and several others injured in North Hills.

Saidy Yansiry Samayoa's charges include one count of murder and gross vehicular manslaughter along with numerous counts of driving under the influence of a drug causing injury, hit-and-run driving resulting in injury to a person, reckless driving on a highway causing specified injury and driving without a valid driver's license.

Authorities arrested her Tuesday on suspicion of murder, and she is being held in lieu of $2 million bail.

Around 11:30 a.m. Sunday, authorities said Samayoa was driving a white 2000 Toyota 4Runner and got into a car accident with another car near Sepulveda Boulevard and Parthenia Street.

She then fled the scene, traveling at a high speed and crashed her car a second time into a Toyota Sienna minivan carrying two adults and four children near Haskell Avenue and Parthenia Street, authorities said.

The force of the crash was so strong it caused the minivan to land upside-down, ejecting multiple people. All six occupants were taken to a local hospital, where a 37-year-old father died. Two of the young kids, 8 and 10, suffered critical injuries.

Samayoa and male passengers in her car were taken to a local hospital. She suffered internal injuries and a broken arm. As of Wednesday, she remained hospitalized.

No arraignment date has been set for Samayoa.
