Lake Forest family searches for missing 14-year-old girl
The search is on for a 14-year-old Lake Forest girl who disappeared on her way to school on Tuesday morning.

LAKE FOREST, Calif. (KABC) -- A 14-year-old Lake Forest girl who disappeared on her way to school was found safe in Huntington Beach Friday.

Sophie Mangold went missing Tuesday after leaving her Lake Forest home to attend Serrano Intermediate School.

Family members said it was unlike her to miss school and that she may have been lured away or abducted by a man she met online.

"I'm very concerned for her safety and who she's with," her mother Rhonda Mangold said while she was missing.

The teen's uncle, a software engineer, says he tracked her cell phone and social media accounts.

"There's been zero activity. It's been completely black. Her phone has not been turned on since she went missing," her uncle Corey Mangold said.

The inactivity was troubling, as Sophie Mangold is a gamer and always on her computer, family members said.

Friends told her uncle that she talked about a man from Huntington Beach, who she met online. He was possibly 19 and goes by the name Michael and Zero. Family members and volunteers spent Friday putting fliers up in the area.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department took a report and notified other law enforcement agencies to watch for her. Authorities believe she may have left on her own accord.
