Man shot outside Fountain Valley skate rink
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was shot in the parking lot of a skate rink in Fountain Valley early Wednesday morning.
Authorities said the incident happened a little before 1 p.m. during college night at the skate rink, which can have as many as 500 people in attendance. Officers said they heard fireworks and then gunshots in the area, resulting in the shooting of one person.
The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.
When the gunshots were heard, authorities immediately stopped people from leaving the area and began searching cars for weapons, evidence and suspects.
It was unclear what led to the shooting. No suspect information was available, and no one was taken into custody.
The investigation was ongoing.
