MONTEREY PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- Mexico's minister of foreign affairs visited Los Angeles on Friday to talk about U.S.-Mexico relations and meet with some local undocumented students.

Claudia Ruiz Massieu met with "dreamer" students - named after the immigration reform proposal the DREAM Act - at East Los Angeles College.

Many in the room are able to stay in the United States under a policy called DACA - the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals - which allows some undocumented immigrants who entered the country under age 16 to remain an dobtain work permits and exemptions from deportations.

"That's certainly an opportunity for them to keep on not only being more productive, more integrated, but also to realize they have this enormous potential and enormous talent," Massieu said.
