SAN BERNARDINO (KABC) --A 34-year-old San Bernardino parolee was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman inside her car, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies say the victim, a 19-year-old woman, had driven to a secluded area of the city of Grand Terrace around 3:40 a.m. on Sept. 25. She had had an argument with her boyfriend and wanted to be alone, so she drove to a church parking lot at the top of a cliff overlooking the city.
As she sat in her car with the doors locked, suddenly her driver's side window shattered and a man was standing there, holding what was described as a combined black metal flashlight / Taser.
The man got in the car and held the woman against her will and began to sexually assault her, according to the SBSD.
After a few minutes, the woman escaped, ran to a nearby gas station and asked the clerk to call 911.
Through the description she gave, investigators were able to identify a suspect, Joshua Steven Medlock, 34, of San Bernardino.
They found Medlock at a residence in Mentone. He tried to escape out an upstairs window but was arrested, deputies said.
Also at the residence was Jeffrey Lyle Olney, 52, of Mentone, who deputies said was a registered sex offender out of compliance with registration rules.
Deputies say Medlock is on parole for burglary and he had gone absent from reporting to his parole officer since his prison release.
Anyone with more information about the case was asked to call detectives at (909)387-3545 or provide an anonymous tip to the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME.
