PORTER RANCH, LOS ANGELES (KABC) --Firefighters battled a 15-acre brush fire burning in the hills of Porter Ranch Tuesday night.
No structures were threatened, firefighters said, but crews had a difficult time accessing the blaze. The fire started around 9:25 p.m. in the 12000 block of Tampa Avenue, not far from the Aliso Canyon Gas Storage Facility.
Helicopters made an aggressive attack to quell the flames. More than 100 firefighters were working to stop the fire from spreading to homes and structures downhill.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials said the fire was moving downhill due to winds and low humidity. The winds were between 20 and 38 mph moving and blowing from north to south, officials said.
By 11 p.m., firefighters said they were getting a good handle on the flames and no structures had been damaged.
