PACOIMA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police on Sunday were looking for the gunman who killed a 16-year-old boy sitting in a pick-up truck in Pacoima.

The victim was shot around 10:30 p.m. Saturday while riding in a Ford F-150 truck on Eustace Street between Dronfield and Cometa avenues, Los Angeles police said.

After realizing his passenger was hit, the truck's driver went to his house in the 11900 block of Sproule Avenue and called 911.

The teen was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died Sunday afternoon.

Police said the suspects fled in a Nissan Altima and the shooting may have been gang-related.

No suspect description was released. Anyone with information on the shooting was urged to call the LAPD.
