Authorities are warning families in the Maywood community of a home intruder on the loose who has been sexually assaulting and targeting young women.

Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said an attacker broke into a home in the 3600 block of 58th Place at 4 a.m. on Saturday, went into a female victim's bedroom and covered her mouth. When the victim's mother heard the noise and checked on her daughter, the suspect ran away.
