BRONX, N.Y. -- A 19-year-old student is under arrest after police say he raped a 15-year-old girl in an empty classroom in the Bronx.

Kevin Simpson is a senior at the Bronx Preparatory Charter School, where the alleged incidents took place.

According to the criminal complaint, Simpson pushed the girl down on a desk and forcibly raped her. He is also accused of forcing her to perform oral sex on three to five different occasions, also inside the school.

The charter school is run by Democracy Prep Public Schools, which took over in July after years of academic decline.

The school's executive director contacted the police and is talking to students and staff.

Simpson is charged with first- and third-degree rape, first- and third-degree sexual abuse, third-degree criminal sex act, sexual misconduct and forcible touching.

He was arraigned Wednesday night and was ordered held on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. He is due back in court on November 24.
