EXPOSITION PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The search is on for two children who police say were abducted by their biological mother in Exposition Park Monday.

Emanuel Freeman, 8, and Adoniah Freeman, 9, were taken by their mother, 37-year-old Ameenah Rasheedah Freeman, from their grandmother's house in the 1700 block of West 35th Place around 3 p.m.

The kids and their mother were last seen in Northridge. Investigators believe they could be heading to Phoenix, Arizona, where the children's biological father may be living.

Adoniah, 9, is black, 4 feet 10 inches tall, 97 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink dress with white flowers.

Emanuel, 8, is black, 4 feet 8 inches tall, 94 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black "Mario Brothers" t-shirt, black shorts with white stripes and black sandals.

Ameenah is black, 5 feet 6 inches tall, around 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black dress with black sandals. Detectives say she may be driving a maroon 2011 Ford Edge with paper plates with "Airport Marina" written on them.

Both children suffer from asthma and require an inhaler.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on their whereabouts was urged to contact Detective D. Johnson of the LAPD's Southwest Station at (213) 485-6571.
