SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A man is behind bars for allegedly raping a disabled 17-year-old girl in Loma Linda.

Steven Haley, 32, of San Bernardino, was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center on Friday on a rape warrant and additional charges.

Sheriff's officials said he allegedly raped the mentally disabled teen on July 8 in Loma Linda. When deputies responded, he had fled the scene and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Authorities said Haley was aware law enforcement was actively searching for him, but refused to turn himself in.

Anyone with information about Haley was asked to contact San Bernardino police.
