Officials on Thursday are trying to determine what sparked what they say is a suspicious fire at a Boyle Heights church.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters knocked down the blaze in less than 30 minutes after the fire was reported around 2 a.m. at Resurrection Church in the 3300 block of E. Opal Street, fire officials said.

The fire was contained to the 1st floor of the historic building, and no injuries were reported.
