BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are searching for three gun-wielding suspects who allegedly robbed a liquor store in Burbank Thursday night and then set it on fire as they fled.

Officers with the Burbank Police Department responded to a report of a robbery in the 1500 block of N. San Fernando Boulevard at about 9:01 p.m. and found Sevan Mini Market on fire.

"It appears that somebody made some report of explosions earlier. We're not sure if there was actually some sort of device that caused that explosion or if it's from the contents inside that were exploding," said Burbank Police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but police have confirmed the two incidents are connected.

The store suffered extensive smoke damage, and the clerk suffered minor injuries. Investigators were checking the area for any possible surveillance video.
