SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- At least four people were arrested following a confrontation between gang members and police in South Los Angeles Friday night.

The incident occurred near 92nd and Hickory streets in the Florence-Firestone area around 12:44 a.m.

Los Angeles police officers responding to a disturbance call came across a large group of about 50 to 100 gang members, who were allegedly celebrating "hood day."

The trouble broke out as officers tried to disperse the crowd. Police swarmed the area and arrested four people, some for possessing handguns. No deputies were injured.
