4.0-magnitude earthquake hits Big Bear Lake area

BIG BEAR, Calif. (KABC) -- A magnitude-4.0 earthquake jolted the Big Bear Lake area Wednesday morning.

The quake struck approximately seven miles south-southeast of Big Bear Lake at 9:10 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

There were no immediate reports of damage.

Residents reported feeling shaking from the earthquake in cities like Victorville, Loma Linda, Perris, Pasadena and Aliso Viejo.

USGS initially estimated it as a 4.5-magnitude earthquake, but the temblor was downgraded to a magnitude-4.0 about an hour later.

The area was hit with another quake, a magnitude-2.8, around 8:15 p.m.
