LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles hasn't had an NFL team since the Raiders left in 1994, but according to an exclusive Eyewitness News poll conducted by Survey USA, Angelenos want professional football to come back.

We asked 800 adults in the Los Angeles area how important it is that an NFL team comes to Los Angeles. Thirty-seven percent said very important and 31 percent said somewhat important.

The owner of the St. Louis Rams is pitching an 80,000-seat venue in Inglewood next to Hollywood Park, but our survey shows that most Angelenos prefer a proposed site in Carson, which would be home to the Chargers and the Raiders.

According to the results, 23 percent of respondents prefer Carson, while 17 percent prefer Inglewood. Twenty-eight percent say they would go to either location.

When asked which team should return to Los Angeles, 32 percent said the Rams. The Chargers were next at 31 percent, while the Raiders came in at 26 percent.
