FULLERTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A single-engine aircraft crashed into a hangar at the Fullerton airport Wednesday afternoon not long after takeoff.

Authorities said the incident happened right before 6 p.m. at the airport in the 4000 block of W. Commnwealth Avenue. The pilot of a private single-engine Siai Marchetti SF-260 lost control upon takeoff, veered across the runway, hit three parked airplanes and then crashed into a hangar.

The pilot, who was on a routine flight, and passenger only sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The aircraft is owned by Air Combat USA and sustained major damage in the crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were investigating the cause of the crash.
