BELL GARDENS, Calif. (KABC) -- An attempted murder suspect was taken into custody following a standoff at a home in Bell Gardens Monday morning.

According to investigators, the barricade started just before 6 a.m. in the 6000 block of Live Oak Street near Ira Avenue after officers tried to serve a search warrant.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Jose Dejesus Navarro, is a known gang member, Bell Gardens police said.

At one point during the barricade, a young boy was seen being escorted out of the home and away from the scene.
