ALHAMBRA, Calif. (KABC) -- A bearded dragon has gone missing from a local pet shop. Alhambra police are now looking to the public for help in the unusual pet-napping.

The animal, named Ganga, is 12 inches long and has painted red claws. Ganga's owner boarded the animal at the pet store last week, police said.

The owner is worried Ganga's health could be in jeopardy if she is being held inside. Bearded dragons need exposure to several hours of light every day.

Anyone who has seen the animal or has any information is urged to call Alhambra police at (626) 570-5151.
