RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. (KABC) -- The body believed to be that of a teen swimmer who went missing in Abalone Cove has been found in the ocean off Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles County fire officials said.

Joseph Sanchez's family gathered at Inspiration Point Sunday morning when they spotted a body in the water. Lifeguards took the body by boat to San Pedro, and then to the coroner's office.

Sanchez, 19, vanished in Abalone Cove Wednesday afternoon after jumping from a cliff. The teen was presumed dead on Thursday.

Divers spent days searching through the murky cave.
