FRESNO, Calif. (KABC) -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Office said about 920 chickens were killed after burglars broke into a Foster Farms facility south of Caruthers.
Investigators said the burglary happened at the Caruthers Foster Farms facility on Sept. 20. They said the suspects pulled back part of the fence, entered a chicken shed and began slaughtering chickens with a golf club or other blunt object.
Foster Farms said the 920 chickens killed were worth about $5,000. They are now offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the people responsible.
