7-year-old child dies at hospital after being found at Garden Grove home with deceased man: police

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (KABC) -- A 7-year-old child was transported to a hospital and died Saturday morning after police were dispatched to a home in Garden Grove and also discovered a deceased man, authorities said.

Officers responded shortly before 9 a.m. to a report of a possible suicide in the 12400 block of Meade Street, where the caller had removed the child from inside the residence, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

Arriving officers administered emergency medical aid before the 7-year-old was rushed to a medical center and subsequently pronounced dead.

The man who was found dead was 62 years old, according to authorities.

The respective causes of death were not immediately known. Authorities said it was too soon to tell if foul play as involved.

The coroner's office will be conducting autopsies on the bodies as well as toxicology tests to determine the causes of death.
