LAKE SHERWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Crews were battling a brush fire in Lake Sherwood on Wednesday.
Officials with the Ventura County Fire Department estimated the brush fire to be 78 acres.
There were more than 370 firefighters battling the blaze from the ground and air, according to the fire department.
Officials closed Potrero Road between Pixton Street and Vista Oaks Way. Residents in the area were urged to avoid Potrero Road if possible to make way for emergency equipment.
The homes nearby the brush fire were not threatened, according to officials. No evacuations were issued.
The fire department said a major issue facing crews was dangerous power lines.
At last report, officials said the fire had no containment and crews were expected to battle the blaze into the night.
Officials issued a smoke advisory, urging residents in the area to close their windows and to turn off air conditioners to avoid bringing smoke inside homes.
Ventura County fire officials requested assistance from firefighters with Cal Fire and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
