ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- A male driver and several passengers were involved in a chase with the California Highway Patrol that spanned several cities Friday night.
The chase came to an end around 10:15 p.m. on the eastbound 91 Freeway near Brookhurst Street. The male driver was arrested before a female passenger, a male child and two other male passengers exited the Nissan Pathfinder.
Authorities said the driver was initially wanted for speeding, but would not stop for officers in Buena Park. The CHP took over the chase around 8:42 p.m.
The chase went through East L.A. and Boyle Heights, Whittier, Downey, Commerce and Norwalk before heading back toward Buena Park. The driver hit speeds up to 90 mph as they transitioned from the 605 Freeway to the eastbound 91 Freeway.
The driver also ran red lights and traveled at high speeds on city streets.
