KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (KABC) -- Former President George H.W. Bush celebrated his 90th birthday in style on Thursday: He jumped out of a helicopter.
Bush Senior made a tandem parachute jump near his home in coastal Maine. The 41st U.S. president was harnessed to a retired member of the Golden Knights, the Army's parachute team.
Although, Bush can't walk anymore, he made a vow five years ago to skydive on his 90th birthday. He said that right after jumping out of an aircraft on his 85th birthday.
After landing safely Thursday, Bush was greeted with hugs by his wife Barbara and his son, former President George W. Bush.
