SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 90-year-old man related to the baseball legend Jackie Robinson was killed in a house fire in South Los Angeles Tuesday.

Raymond Isum, who's sister was married to Robinson, was killed in a fire that broke out at about 10:40 a.m. in the 1500 block of West 36th Place. Fifty-seven firefighters put out the flames in about 30 minutes.

No functional smoke alarms were found in the home and large furniture made it difficult for firefighters to get in to rescue Isum. One firefighter was injured.

This is the sixteenth death at a house fire in Los Angeles this year.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
