Elderly man's body found after garage fire in Mount Washington

MOUNT WASHINGTON, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man in his 70s was found dead in his Mount Washington garage, after a fire destroyed the structure early Sunday morning.

Los Angeles firefighters responded to the fire at about 3:25 a.m. in the 1800 block of West Alder Drive. Upon arrival, they found the hillside structure fully engulfed in flames with downed wires in front.

Nearly 30 firefighters put out the blaze in 26 minutes. They found the man's body inside soon after.

No other injuries were reported. An investigation into the cause of the fire was underway.
