Family offering reward up to $250,000 for pilot missing from Catalina

More than a week after student pilot Edmond Haronian and his instructor went missing, his family is offering a reward for information on his whereabouts.

The family is offering $125,000 for information that leads to his remains or $250,000 if he is found alive.

"We would like to have closure," said Edwin Haronian, the student pilot's brother. "And we would like to accept it if we find some clue that it actually crashed."

Edwin Haronian said his brother and instructor Jason Glazier took off from Catalina Island on May 28 under overcast conditions.

The family believes the plane may have crashed between Catalina and the coast of Long Beach or Hermosa Beach. He said his brother always told the family where he was going.

After he was reported missing, a Los Angeles County sheriff's helicopter searched the coastal areas, but did not spot any wreckage.

The family has also hired a private investigator to continue the search.
